Because autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is usually diagnosed during childhood, with symptoms appearing during the first two years of life, it is known as a development disorder. People with autism generally exhibit deficits in communication and social behaviors, as well as restrictive interests and/or repetitive behaviors. Less than 2% of children are diagnosed with ASD, with symptoms varying widely in severity.

There are multiple clinical trial opportunities at APG for autism, such as investigational treatment for symptoms of irritability and aggression, as well as core symptoms (communication skills and restrictive and/or repetitive behaviors).

Please contact APG Research for more information about our current studies for children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder.

Patients who qualify to participate in a study will receive:

  • Assessments by a Board Certified Psychiatrist
  • Investigational medication at no cost
  • Study-related care and monitoring
  • Compensation for time and travel
